Kilgray Translation Technologies targets project management with the release of memoQ 4

Kilgray Translation Technologies, an independent company dedicated to the development of clean and innovative tools has announced the availability of memoQ 4. memoQ 4 enables busy translation project managers to have more control over translation processes. Granting ease of use, collaboration, interoperability and best support of the translation industry, memoQ 4 improves the productivity of translators, translation companies and translation buyers.

memoQ 4 is the result of more than fifteen man-years of development and introduces many new concepts and features that greatly enhance the work of translators and project managers. The Post Translation Analysis
overcomes a hurdle that prevented the wide-spread use of translation servers, namely the payment in the case of collaborative projects. In collaborative projects with several translators the order in which the segments are translated has an effect on leveraging. Post Translation Analysis enables the project manager to know which translator has done what work and who has leveraged from the work of the other translators.

memoQ 4 offers the world’s first Translation Resource Server™: using memoQ 4, project managers can share not only documents, translation memories and term bases, but also other resources such as auto-translatables, non-translatables, segmentation rules, QA settings, keyboard shortcut settings, ignore lists for the spell checker and so on - 12 of them, all together. Upload and download happens in the background.

memoQ 4 supports multilingual projects and offer incremental hand-off and delivery packages, real-time progress tracking and extensive reporting. Packages prepared in memoQ can be processed in any tool, which means that users are not locked in.

memoQ 4’s new text editor is faster, more reliable, provides the same functionality what you got used to in previous versions and much more: drag and drop, non-destructive editing, compatibility with the widest range of scripts and real-time quality assurance checks. The new text editor has been found to speed up translation in itself.

memoQ 4 ships on February 1, 2010.
