Withheld Translator's Fees to cover company's expenses for payment service?

Dear all,
I have a question, which I suppose is more of a legal matter.
Is it legitimate for a vendor to force translators into a certain payment method and then (without telling them so) withholding a part of the translator's fee to cover their own expenses towards that payment service?
I am of course aware that we can always say we don't work with them anymore.

My point is here, does a company not have the obligation to full disclosure of all costs to the translator BEFORE they transfer them to new payment methods with dodgy payment services, and not afterwards?
