Good morning,
I have this document from Department of Commerce regarding a claim for payment of property.
They are asking for additional proof evidence.
The list says:
"please provide copy of deceased owner's Death certificate
document stating the address to send the warrant (check)."
What would be warrant in this context? Un titre de propriété ? Mandat does not make any sense to me. As for (check), could it be un chèque (que le département adressera à la personne en question?)
Or have I understood it wrongly?
Thanks for your help.

Definition of 'warrant'
warrant
(wɒrənt , US wɔːr- )
countable noun [oft by NOUN]
A warrant is a legal document that allows someone to do something, especially one that is signed by a judge or magistrate and gives the police permission to arrest someone or search their house.
Police confirmed that they had issued a warrant for his arrest. [+ for]
...a search warrant.
Equipment is allocated by warrant.
Synonyms: authorization, permit, licence, permission
this "warrant" would be some kind of "authorization / permission" to pay the unclaimed funds to this person.

Discussion
this person made a claim on that money (so it would be a heir OR possibly a creditor of the "deceased owner")
if the claim is accepted, then the procedure would include a "warrant" and a "cheque".
Looks like this "warrant" is some kind of "decision/order to proceed with payment"
Anything in your ST to contradict this interpretation?
Any indication how these "unclaimed funds" come in possession of this "Department of Commerce"?
Are you talking of "property" of the real estate kind or of "property" as a general concept - anything that belongs to a person?
IOW would it be "the deceased owner" of the "unclaimed funds" or of some real estate?
BTW an "arrest warrant" is very far from being the only kind of warrant - try this one for variety "Royal Warrant" https://www.royalwarrant.org/
J'aurais tendance à penser à une caution?
