German term

press dagegen

German to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering floors
I have two questions baffling me. Here is the first, the context is floor construction:

Is this just "right up against it", i.e. a mixture of German and English???

Also "tightly butting" - Google for many reliable hits

neutral asptech : A contradiction - the purpose of angles around a machine foundation is to separate them (Dehnfuge = expansion joint). There has to be a separating layer between the angles (e.g. Styrofoam). The second angle is placed directly against ("press") this layer.

Are you suggesting we put things in the target that are not in the source? For all we know, the filler & capping strip may be incorporated later & specified later in the text (after the concrete drying shrinkage has drawn the angles apart)!
