Hi all,
I know this was asked before, I even found the thread, but I honestly need your help with this:
I am translating a teacher's CV. Under work experience she put: Docente a tempo indeterminato presso istituto xx, anzianità di servizio: servizio di ruolo 15 anni, servizio di pre-ruolo 2 anni.
Now, I am a bit unsure on how to translate "docente a tempo indeterminato", former threads suggested either "permanent" or "contract of indefinite duration". Having worked in the UK I know jobs can be temporary, fixed-term or permanent, therefore I thought permanent was the right translation, however I'd like to have explained the difference between those terms (aside having found permanent on UK websites and CID on Irish websites).
Also, if "anzianità di servizio" is "level of seniority" (is this correct, by the way?), how would "servizio di ruolo/pre-ruolo" be? Tenured service? Permanent service?
Any help is much appreciated :)

basically a contract of indefinite duration is what a teacher is given if they have a number of temporary employment contracts. Effectively the same, but different legal names. 'Permanent teacher' will be understood by all!

Teacher on a permanent contract
Contracts are either permanent of temporary a fixed-term would be a temporary contract for a set period. To put "permanent teacher" would sound a bit strange.

We say "permanent" in an employment context. There are a couple of other previous questions about this phrase, but their contexts are different.
