For her first collection in 2008, Nina Skarra used the Northern lights as inspiration. The popular “New Look “ which featured her own way of revitalizing chiffon, organza, and tulle that turned every design-piece into a jewel, worked in oversized volumes in order to form new dimensions was an instant hit with some of London’s “it” girls.
The Fall/Winter 2009 collection is the story of a warrior princess, a strong female personality, determined in pursuit of her goals. Nina Skarra has created a collection of sculptured knits carved and layered and designed with ultimate feminity in mind with never before seen silhouettes, shape and fabric treatments. Nina creates new techniques, culling inspiration from those of historical cloths.
The result is a collection that is sophisticated and sculptural, created in luxurious fabrics and knits in a neutral palette.
