A native of the UK, I have lived in Germany since completing my degree in Modern Languages at the University of Leeds (German/French, 1986). From January 2008 to December 2016, I worked in-house in the Language Service of a major European bank, until the department was dissolved. I was responsible for translating and editing a variety of texts, including speeches, press releases, presentations, marketing campaigns, HR, social corporate responsibility and sustainability, right through to financial and business texts, tailoring the style to suit either internal or external target audiences. My trademark is my fluent, eloquent style. In May 2018, I was one of five external translators drafted in for the AGM of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt.

I am proficient in the use of the CAT tool Across, having worked with it since January 2009, up to the version, 6.0, MemoQ and have some experience of Trados.

In addition, I have worked as a freelance translator and editor since January 2005, in diverse areas such as science and research, education, finance, the environment, the shipping industry, antique weaponry and art.
