When the weather is sunny Apr 24, 2017

then either in the garden or on the balcony, and when the weather is not so great, in my office in the cellar.
At my parents in laws summer house in the "Puszta", always on my garden table with a tree protecting me and my laptop from the sun. I am normally lucky that it does not rain much there:-)

Home Apr 24, 2017

For a few years, I had a rented office and I was extremely happy with working away from home and family, but then my youngest daughter left the nest and I had a room free, so I started working more and more at home until it made no sense having the two and I finally decided to move my office home. Now I either sit at my desk in my little cozy study, surrounded by dictionaries, encyclopedias and reference books or, weather permitting, I’ll enjoy my garden table on the terrace (that's what I'll ... Home + Late Night Apr 24, 2017

Since I like to work late at night, home is still the best choice.
I have thought of trying a community office or a cafe, so I'd meet some people, sometimes. But that implies extra costs and distractions, so it would have to be sporadical. Standard is still my home office.

Theory and practice Apr 24, 2017

In theory, in a little cabin on a deserted beach with the sound of waves crashing ashore all day. And always around 22° centigrade!

In practice, at home with a good view of urban wildlife and as little view of humans as possible.

Elsewhere Apr 24, 2017

Although I usually work in my Vermont (USA) village home, my *favorite* places have been elsewhere---my cousin's condo on the west coast facing the Pacific ocean, a balcony overlooking a busy small-town square in Peru, a vacation rental with a view of the snow-capped Andes, and so on.

Home, where I can work late at night. It's a daft idea, but clients don't call and the wild roses are so lovely in the light nights at midsummer...
Little cabin or 'cage', full of dictionaries, with kitchen and coffee nearby.
Hedge to keep most humans out - my husband is OK when gardening. Even the birds are not afraid of him. They actually follow him when he fills up the bird-seed thingy...
Plum tree just waiting for a hint of warmth to burst into bloom. It's lovely at when it rains at night. Raindrops in the branches catch the streetlight and shine like jewels.
Fine view of the sky and sunsets at that time of day.
If I stand up I can see the sea and the 'mountains' across the bay. Can't hear the waves pounding, but the prevailing wind is almost always there...
Good chair, large screen.

Anything else is a let-down!
