Hello everyone,

I wanted to discuss with you something that has been bothering me for a while. Besides being a freelancer, I am also doing my master's degree in Russian language and literature. Because of the pandemic, all universities in my country (Bosnia and Herzegovina) are now working online. It is terrible. I do not have online classes, and instead of that, my professors are only sending me tons and tons of homework and essays with very short deadlines, to do it all by myself.

To make things worse, our university has some online platform, but its system keeps falling everyday, and the older professors do not know how to use it. Some of them do not want to learn how to work with any other online teaching platform, like Google Classroom, because it is easier for the students to do most of the work by themselves.

My colleagues from the other department complained to their professors that they do not have an organised system, and they are getting to much homework. Homework is not the problem, we are students, we have to learn, but the problem is that it is not systematic and they have very short deadlines for a huge amount of work which they cannot finish on time. A certain professor just told them that they do not understand her, that she also has a family besides the work of a professor, and that she has a lot of work, and they have been ungrateful. Most of the students have also their own family, kids, elders and jobs they have to take care for, so I think nobody is being ungrateful, they are just asking for things to be more organised.

Don't get me wrong, I understand everyone in this situation, and of course this is new to both students and professors. But until now, I have very bad experiences with online studying.

But, I'm sure there are positive examples of this, so I would like to hear what is the situation with online studying at your university?
