If you want to make Proz.com your professional "shop window" , you'll want to make it as visible as possible to everyone.
I'm not sure of the implications of restricting access. If your profile is missing just because the searcher hasn't yet ticked the "outsourcer" field, you may lose out on jobs. OTOH, I suppose there would be some protection from identity theft.

I have been looking at the 3 free training option packages offered upon registering- I would like to know what others would recommended as a beginner to take?
Option 1
Option 2 or
Option 3
As I intend to register in a few weeks time.

I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to. All I can see is a membership package that includes training; but the training isn't free, it's just discounted. As one is called "Starter Package" I would expect that one to be the best for you, but only you can tell.

I would just like to let everybody on this thread know that I will be becoming a full member as of Saturday, as Saturday is also my birthday.
I intend to follow all of the advice that people have given me here.
I have also created a simple website for myself as well.
