Dear Interpreting and Translation Professionals:

We are most pleased to inform you of the new Graduate Studies in Interpreting and Translation program (GSIT), offered by the Department of Communication in the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Maryland (College Park).

We are now accepting applications for Fall 2013 admission and are writing to let you know about our GSIT degree program. Part-time and full-time study is available; classes will be offered during the day, evening, and on weekends to accommodate student schedules.

Interested applicants can select from these exceptional learning opportunities:

Interpreting:

• Master of Professional Studies in Interpreting (with two tracks):
o Conference Interpreting; or Public Service Interpreting

Translation:

• Master of Professional Studies in Translation (with two tracks):

The University of Maryland's close proximity to the nation's capital ensures that GSIT students will have a range of internship opportunities in the areas of political, health, legal, education, and business communication. And some of the best interpreting and translation professionals in the United States will be teaching in the program.

Applications from international students are due by February 1, 2013 for Fall 2013 admission. Applications from U.S. students are due by May 1, 2013 for Fall 2013 admission.
