Profile

I am a translator by training. I graduated at the University of Vienna where I had discovered my profound fascination with the English language during my translation studies. I have focused on increasing my language skills ever since, especially on describing complex technical issues for non-technical users.

My career involved the organization of shipments and contracts in Europe and internationally, as well as translation activities, both freelance and employed. I started my work in the IT industry as a technical writer. In this capacity I organized multilingual documentation projects and was responsible for the entire documentation of a high-end banking software product.

Based on these experiences I am now working as an independent language consultant for companies in the IT and software industry. My projects include the planning and execution of documentation projects and user assistance systems, the localization of software and websites, and the internationalization of marketing and sales brochures into English. Since my customers primarily include Austrian companies, I advise them in their choice of international presence by designing their English marketing documents or websites in either British, American or international English.

I am a member of the Society for Technical Communication, STC, and of the German Gesellschaft für technische Kommunikation e.V., tekom. My other interests, besides holidaying and pursuing several outdoor activities, include neurolinguistics and subjectivity.
