Bio
I am a qualified translator (English to Spanish) with a wide range of experience both in-house (within the public sector and not-for-profit organizations) and freelance. I have lived in the United Kingdom for nearly 10 years and I obtained a BA in English and History from Goldsmiths College, University of London (2:1 Hons).
I began working as a translator when I was 19 years old as I had obtained the Cambridge ESOL Certificate of Proficiency in English after attending a bilingual English primary school in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I continued to study English and I travelled to London for a monthlong intensive course to further my knowledge.
From the ages of 19 to 20 years old, I worked part-time as a translator at the Argentine National Audit Office whilst studying for a degree in Literature. I moved to Mexico at the age of 20 to study History at UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) and I also worked part-time at the Argentine Embassy as an Assistant to the Cultural Attaché. Upon my return to Argentina at the age of 23, I was employed once again as a translator for the Argentine National Audit Office where I was responsible for translating several manuals and documents for the VII INTOSAI meeting of Supreme Audit Institutions held in Buenos Aires in 2001 as well as liaising with English-speaking delegates and interpreting for them during their stay. One of the documents that I translated for the event was the "Guidance for Reporting on the Effectiveness of Internal Controls: SAI Experiences in Implementing and Evaluating Internal Controls" published by INTOSAI’S Sub-Committee on Internal Control Standards.
I also volunteered my services as a translator for Fundación ‘Cruzada Patagónica’, an Argentine NGO supporting rural and indigenous communities in the Patagonia region. Along with a group of other volunteers, I helped to translate their 2004-05 Annual Report into English. The report was published and distributed among sponsors and supporters.
After completing my BA in English and History at Goldsmiths College, University of London, I returned to Argentina and continued to work at the National Audit Office from September 2004 to July 2005. I translated part of their website into English and I also translated several audit papers and documents from INTOSAI for a public debt seminar that took place in Buenos Aires with international delegates in attendance. During this time, I also did some freelance translations, including:

• Kelly, Kevin. (1995) “The nine laws of God”in Out of Control. Basic Books, used by Professor Heloísa Primavera during her lectures on Information Management at the University of Buenos Aires, College of Social Sciences.
• Several articles on international commerce and steel manufacturing for a work colleague.

From November 2005 to September 2007 I worked as a World Church Office Administrator and PA to the Area Secretary for Latin America and the Caribbean at The Methodist Church in Britain. An essential part of my role was to translate documents from English into Spanish and from Spanish into English, namely:

• NMA (Nationals in Mission Appointments) grant applications;
• Reports from Mission Partners;
• Letters, e-mails and reports from churches in Latin America and the Caribbean;
• Mission documents;
• Travel itineraries;
• Speeches and articles for circulation amongst Latin American churches

I also acted as simultaneous interpreter at the Methodist Annual Conferences on 2006 and 2007 (held in Edinburgh and Blackpool respectively).

I have continued to collaborate on an informal basis as a translator with the Methodist Church. From March 2009 to December 2010 I worked as a freelance translator for the Argentine national newspaper ‘PERFIL’ translating several articles into Spanish for publication in the travel section and I also wrote a couple of articles on different topics related to the UK.

In May 2011 I obtained my Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists (UK) and I am currently working as a freelance translator and Spanish teacher.
