My name is Nicolas Machado and I am a professional freelance translator. I am 31 years old. I was born and raised in France. My objective is to provide English to French translation with an emphasis on quality and efficiency.
French is my native tongue, therefore it is also my only target language. I strongly believe that a good translation can only be produced when the target language is fully mastered. I want to focus on quality and will make sure to provide spot-on translations for anyone requiring my services.
Specialization fields:
Video games
Computers (Hardware, Software)
Internet
Website localization
Music
Furthermore, I offer a reassuring presence and reactivity all along the projects I am working on. I always make sure I can provide a high-standard translation in time.
After three years in University, studying English, I immediately started to work on a voluntary basis as a translator for the Angry Video Game Nerd, the main character of a web television series of farcical retro-gaming video reviews created by and starring James Rolfe. I have translated and subtitled 33 of his videos. You can check my work at this address.
I had to stop working for the "AVGN" when I got the opportunity to work in Canada as a linguistic video game tester for Enzyme, a QA company. I worked there for a full year, where I was able to drastically improve my English and my translation skill. I successfully worked on several projects for major companies such as Ubisoft, THQ, ArenaNet, Sony and many others.
After my return in my native country, I decided to work as a full-time freelance translator on projects in the video games, internet and IT fields.
RATES
My rates are definitely not set in stone and will depend on the deadline and the complexity of the text. Please contact me for further information. I will make sure I can provide a high-standard translation in time before accepting any project.
SOFTWARE
I mainly work with Trados and memoQ, but also with VideoSubSync, Word, Excel and several other software.
