Source text - English It took some two hours to get away from the airport for my first view of an open-air African market. There were fruit stands under thatched roofs, with pyramids of oranges. Lemons and coconuts, mounds of papaya, spices, and cassava were spread out on sheets of cardboard. Hanging from the rafters were pots, pans, wooden spoons, clothing, and metres of colourful kitenge material used to make clothing.
The red soil was very fine and seemed to colour everything. The market stretched along the road for kilometres. A large eucalyptus tree made a canopy for the Mikonde artists who carved the deepest black ebony. The local barbershop shared the same shade.
Finally we arrived at our temporary home, the Salvation Army Hostel. The African huts were gorgeous to look at. The oval thatched roofs and painted concrete walls appeared to have been set down in strategic locations by some huge crane. However, tropical, salty damp air permeated the living quarters. The room had been sealed up for some time; it needed serious ventilation. I opened the room to the sun. Later that night, I discovered the musky odour of mildew in the bed sheets and in the hammock-shaped mattress stuffed with rags, feathers, and other unidentifiable materials. It was stifling.

Par contre, l'air tropical salé et humide pénétrait partout dans la maison. La pièce avait été fermée depuis longtemps et nécessitait une sérieuse aération. J'ai ouvert la fenêtre au soleil. Plus tard ce soir-là, j'ai découvert une odeur musquée de moisissure dans les draps de mon lit et dans le matelas en forme de hamac, rembourré de guenilles, de plumes et d'autres matériaux inidentifiables. Source text - English •We recently improved the knitting process of our sweaters containing polyester (ex: Jersey shirttail sweater and Multi-way cardigan) to reduce piling so customers will notice an improvement when compared with the same styles from our 2012 collection.
•We have added to high quality Pima cotton to some T-shirts this fall for increased softness and comfort. Since the quality of cotton is defined by the length, fineness and strength of the fibre, the highest quality cotton fibres come from varieties that produce long-staple fibres like Pima.
•As you may have noticed, we began using some linen in our T-shirts for the Summer 2013 season. Linen is a natural fibre made from flax, a vegetable fibre. It offers a crisp and lightweight feel, which is ideal for the warm season. Linen is a highly durable fabric that is resistant to static and piling. It should be hand washed for best care results.
•We have included small percentages of silk in some fabrics this fall for a more luxurious feel. Created by the silk worm, silk has a beautiful natural lustre. It is a natural fibre that is resistant to static and piling. It should be hand washed for best care results.
