Bio
Hi, my name is Catherine González. I studied translation at the ISIT (Superior Institute for Interpreters and Translators) in Mexico City. I love being a translator. I enjoy doing my job, because for me is amassing to pass one language into another. I take only as many projects as I can handle a week, because I like to give them the time they need. Working for television has given me experience in many fields. I’ve translated several TV shows for National Geographics and other chains, which I enjoyed and learned a lot in doing so. I also practice different sports, and read a lot about fitness, running, weight lifting, nutrition, and other related issues, in different languages, so I’m familiar with the specific vocabulary. I also took a first aids’ course and I got interested in medicine. When I began working I translated some medical papers, and I got interested in that branch of translation. In other topic, I’m a good cooker, I like to try recipes from other countries and I translated “Paula’s best dishes”, I cooked and adapted Paula Deen’s recipes.

I love traveling, because you can have a greater contact with the spoken language when you travel. I’ve been in France, Portugal, Italy, and some Latin-American countries. Being in Latin-America has given me a broader understanding in Latin-American Spanish, which helps me a lot when I work for companies like Disney Latinamerica.
