I was raised near Chicago, Illinois, and I recently moved to California after spending four years in Chile, where I met my fiance. I have a certificate in Spanish/English translation from the UCSD Extension, and a BA is Sociology from Roosevelt University. I enjoy teaching languages as well as translating, so I am currently pursuing an MA in TESOL at San Francisco State University.
Most of my translation experience is in the field of education: theses on social and emotional aspects of language learning; preschool evaluation criteria and newsletters; and university application letters or recommendation and transcripts. In addition to my educational background in sociology and pedagogy, I am also interested in cycling, swimming, cooking, traveling, sewing, crafting, and reading, especially historical fiction. |
