Hi! I am an American, born in the midwest of the United States where I grew up. I took all levels of High School and college level French. After college at Nebraska University in Omaha, I lived in France for 10 years , near Paris. I worked as a volunteer with a Christian organization. I also spent 2 years of that time near Dijon, France.
I am quite familar with Swiss French, also since my marriage in 1994! I also lived near Lausanne, Switzerland and often return on trips.
My experience in France as a translator and interpreter was for school application documents, interpretation in seminars on different religious subjects, and managing a large holdhold of 15 students and staff, as Maitresse de la Maison. Later I spent some time in hospitals with staff and was familiarized with medical terms and obstetrics procedures.
My credentials are as follows:
*Member of NATI, Nebraska Association of Translators and Interpreters, where I get my training every two years for both vocations. I have my own successful
*business of translation called Cinnard Translations. I mostly translate school transcripts, marriage and birth certificates for French-African students in my area.
*Certificate in Medical Interpretation Training from Metropolitain Community College. I interpret for medical appointments of French-Africans in Omaha,NE, the DHHS since 2008, and Bridging the GAP. |
