Bio

I was
born in Australia to Dutch parents, but have also lived in the Netherlands and,
since 1989, in Spain.

After
a few years of teaching English at companies and city council departments in
Barcelona, I moved on to translating, though I continue to provide other
language-related services at several public administration bodies in Barcelona.

I am a native speaker of both English and Dutch. I
have a very high level of fluency in Spanish and Catalan thanks to time spent
here and formal training I have taken.

Living here has enabled me to gain deep appreciation
for Spanish and Catalan culture, and helps to maintain my level of fluency in
the local languages. Being a "local" means I am also able to capture
nuances in a text which are easily missed.
