PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

I am a professional and full-time translator, reviewer and proof-reader with language combinations EN/DE-IT. I have worked for three years as a Project manager and in-house translator and reviewer for a translation company near Ravenna. My tasks included:

- Managing of thousands of projects, both monolingual and multilingual: I was in charge of selecting the most suitable resources (Translator, Reviewer, QA manager and DTPer) for a project and of coordinating and monitoring them from the beginning until delivery to the client.
- Translation and revision tasks in my language combinations: I specialized mainly in the technical, law (including sworn translations) and marketing fields.
- QA management: in all European and non-European languages and final layout checks prior to publication.

Almost all projects were managed using CAT-tools: I have extensive experience with SDL Trados Studio (currently own SDL Trados Studio 2017) and Memsource. I was also in charge of TMs’ and TBs’ updates and maintenance, document alignments and IT problem solving together with researching new CAT-tool functions.

Now I started working as a freelance translator, reviewer and proof-reader and thanks to my experience as PM and in-house translator, I am familiar with all the various steps that constitute a translation project. I am also fully aware of the expectations and needs of both translation agencies and final clients, such as terminology accuracy and consistency, respecting deadlines and a strong communicative and responsive approach.

EDUCATION

I graduated in 2014 at the Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators, University of Bologna at Forlì, Master’s Degree in Specialised Translation.
Internship (duration: 1 month): Directorate-General for Translation, Italian-language Department, of the European Commission in Brussels for the preparation of my MA dissertation on terminology (financial field).

Previously I attended and completed the BA in Intercultural Language Mediation at the same University in Forlì.
Erasmus Exchange Programme (9 months) at the University of Innsbruck (Leopold Franzens Universität Innsbruck), Austria.
