English to Korean: Thesis General field: Tech/Engineering Detailed field: Construction / Civil Engineering
Source text - English According to GNS Science (The Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences), the Rupture of Wellington fault could cause the significant earthquake with the strong ground shaking. GNS Science also indicates that there are the rigid greywacke hills around Wellington City). Based on the geological background, the substations and buildings, responding to the high frequency from bedrock, could strongly be damaged, compared to the sediment area of the lower Hutt Valley.
The next significant earthquake by the Wellington Fault will occur in 500 to 1000 years because the last rupture was between 300 and 500 years ago with the Mw 7.6 earthquake, cited by GNS Science. For RiskScape analysis, the indicative earthquake event is applied to the modelling, which accompanies Magnitude 6.5 as the strike-slip at 45 degrees from North (King & Bell, 2009).

Bio
I am Aidan(Janguk) and a native Korean, currently living in South Korea. I have studied and worked as a civil engineer in New Zealand for the past 2.5 years. However, due to COVID-19 outbreak, I am temporarily staying in South Korea and searching for translating opportunities.
With regard to my ability, I took translation and linguistic
courses at the university by double majoring in environmental science and
English language & literature. And I wrote many reports in English and
translated Korean/English to quote phrases while I studied a master's course at
the University of Canterbury in Christchurch.
When it comes to Korean, I worked at a public sector in
South Korea and used official and formal languages which are acceptable in
government documents and contracts. As I studied Korean grammar and took tests
to work for a government agency, I am able to write and speak Korean
accurately.
