Business Language Services (BLS) was established in 1990 with the aim of providing high quality translation, interpreting and language training services to business and professional people in the UK. The company has a head office and training centre in Abergavenny, South Wales.
BLS was one of the first ‘Language Excellence (LX) Centres’ in the UK and is a full member of The Association of Translation Companies (ATC), the main professional body governing the UK translation industry. In 2003, BLS qualified as one of the ‘Fast Growth 50’ companies in Wales and also won the national Language Trainer Award.
BLS provides the full range of language service in over 150 language combinations. We have a team of experienced in-house linguists for the common European languages who are supported by a network of specialist translators and tutors for other languages and to handle peak workloads.
BLS has experience of translating a wide variety of texts including Technical and Training manuals; Publicity material (brochures, Press Releases, advertising copy); Legal contracts; Websites, Commercial texts etc. We have also gained specialist knowledge of some niche markets such as tourguide script production, translation and recording with sound effects/backing tracks.
BLS uses Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) as standard but also works with DTP packages like QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, VisiLink and PageMaker. We use TRADOS translation management software to ensure quality and consistency in all our translation work. BLS works to a quality system and a second linguist checks all translations before despatch.
