Chat in the virtual environment and skype Sep 29, 2010

Chat will be available in many forms and areas. Chat will be text only, and does not require any special software or download. Additionally if attendees display their Skype contact details they will be able to connect with other attendees that have Skype and engage in voice and webcam chat.

Regards,

Drew

Now it's 9.30 AM Cairo local time

Can't access to panel groups Sep 30, 2010

I have signed up to the Italian panel group, but I cannot get access to the chatroom to join the discussion. I am using Firefox 3.6.10 and I also tried to use IE 8 (64 bit), but nothing happens...

Chat section ? Sep 30, 2010

Hi,
I wanted to take part in a "pre-conference" chat but I can't see how I can access it. Nothing happens when I click on the "Chat section" link in the page that says the event is underway. Is that normal?

Thanks for your helps!

Marie-Céline

PS: my browser is Opera

PPS: it seems to work now

Just arrived Sep 30, 2010

Hello,
I've just arrived and I'm still suffering of the just-arrived-at-the-convention syndrome
It looks all new and I don't know a thing about it.
Hope to see you later.
I'm on twitter as PeterMotteTradu. I'm also at Facebook, but I think running too many applications at the same time, won't work very well. At Facebook I'm Peter Motte.

Chat session does not open here in Opera. GoogleChrome nor FFox. What's up?

Various problems Sep 30, 2010

1. It was also unclear to me how to start participating in the conference. The pages were full of titles and descriptions of what will be in it but no instructions on how to take part, or what would change when that became possible.

2. There were suggestions (that was my impression), that turned out to be incorrect, that login to the conference would be separate from login to Proz.

3. I finally succeeded in listening to the "quality" discussion and there was a parallel text chat. To take part in this I found I had to create yet another account (with "livestream") and I refused to do this; to take part in the conference, a single login should be enough. If this can't be arranged with livestream don't use livestream.

Oliver
