Considering the distinct international character of the field of accidental marine pollution preparedness and response, REMPEC has considered useful to elaborate an English-French, French-English lexicon of anti-pollution terminology.

The document consists of two parts:

- First part: English-French

- Second part: French-English

In order to provide an easy understanding of some maritime words or very technical terms, we have included at the end of this dictionary, bilingual annexes containing a certain number of explanatory diagrams, covering terminology of ships, anti-pollution booms, wind directions, as well as certain Public Works equipment used in onshore cleanup operations.



Etant donné Ie caractère international très marqué du domaine de la préparation à la lutte et la lutte contre les pollutions marines accidentelles, il est apparu utile au REMPEC d'élaborer un lexique anglais-français et français-anglais de terminologie antipollution.

Le présent document comporte deux parties:

- Première partie: anglais-français

- Deuxième partie: français-anglais

Afin de permettre une visualisation facile de certains termes maritimes ou très techniques, nous avons tenu à inclure à la fin de ce lexique des annexes bilingues rassemblant un certain nombre de schémas explicatifs se rapportant à la terminologie des: navires, barrages antipollution, directions du vent, ainsi que de certains engins de Travaux Publics utilisés lors d'opérations de nettoyage des plages.
