Source text - English I was born and raised in Toronto, where I attended the University of Toronto. Originally, I was enrolled in the Engineering program but at the last minute I switched to the Commerce and Economics program. After graduating, I worked at KPMG where I obtained my Chartered Accountancy designation; I also spent time in the corporate finance practice where I obtained my Insolvency Practitioner designation. I worked in the insolvency practice during the recession in the early 90’s, so I learned early on in my career why companies get into trouble and ways to help them back to on track. I worked on a lot of defunct real estate companies so it was a natural move when I left KPMG to go into the private sector of real estate.
