Bio

Experienced Translator in PT/EN/ES. EN<>ES PROZ Certified.

My main fields of expertise include literature, social sciences, education and organizational and human performance.

I am currently working as a freelance translator for the publishing company Principis/Ciranda Cultura. I have already translated the following classics from EN>PT:

A Fair Barbarian by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Walden on the Duty of Civil Disobedience by H.D. Thoreau

Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy

Daisy Miller by Henry James

Beautiful Stories from Shakespeare by E. Nesbit

I also work for Revista Periferias, an online magazine about the diversity groups in Brazil and the world that strive for inclusion and human rights in the peripheral territories. Themes are mainly related to humanities, social sciences, sustainability, health, education, and literature. It is edited in 4 languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. I am responsible for the translation from EN&PT>ES and proofreading of the Spanish edition of the magazine which includes narratives, articles, academic papers, interviews, poems, and short stories. In that regard, I have translated the following short stories by African authors:

1) Door of No Return by Natasha Omokhodion-Banda | ZAMBIA |

2) From the Lost City of Hurtlantis to the Streets of Helldorado (Or, Franco) by Rémy Ngamije | NAMIBIA |

3) Of the Poet and the Café by Girma Fantaye| ETHIOPIA |

4) A Certain 36th of November by Merdi Mukore | CONGO |

As to my education, I hold a Bachelor´s degree in Modern Languages and a Master of Arts in Adult Education and Training and Development with 14 years of solid experience in human and organizational performance. I have furthered my translation experience and education through courses including workshops with leading translation figures such as Isa Mara Lando and Viver de Tradução mentoring.
