Protection of personal data at the European Parliament

When processing personal data, the European Parliament shows full respect for the rights of the individuals (data subjects) concerned.


In order to meet its obligations vis-à-vis its staff and European citizens alike, the European Parliament frequently needs to know personal data, such as name and address or other, at times more sensitive, information.
The European Parliament processes such data in accordance with the conditions imposed by Regulation (EC) No. 45/2001 and guarantees the rights recognised therein. The Regulation aims to protect the fundamental freedoms and rights of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data pertaining to them.
