Petras Link funktioniert bei mir leider nicht, aber ich habe noch eine ganze Menge anderer Websites zu Crossroads dancing gefunden. Diese Art von Irish dancing fand tatsächlich an Wegkreuzungen statt im Gegensatz zum Tanzen im Haus. Siehe z. B.:
The jig was the original step-dance,'' said Philomena Mooney, instructor for the Augusta Irish Dancers, who have been practicing their jigs and reels for weeks in preparation for St. Patrick's Day. "The reels are relatively new; solo dancing is relatively new. But figure (group) dancing is very old -- it was crossroads dancing. People would gather at the crossroads and dance together.''
