Hi friends,
I'm translating a travel guide about Scotland and bumped into this paragraph:
"Talk to that old boy brought up in the wilds of Speyside, Scotland’s whisky country. He knows nothing much about the world except making fine malt. But boy, does he know a lot about that. And he’ll be delighted to teach you. A few hours with him at an out-the-way inn and you’ll be a very happy expert…"
I just cannot figure out what an "out-the-way inn" means. I guess being a young woman myself and mother of two little girls, the idea of "A few hours with (stranger) at an out-the-way inn" is simply freezing my mind! Yet, I'm sure it must not mean what I think... at least not in a Travel Guide.
Any calming thoughts anyone?

It probably refers to a pub, not your typical tourist pub, but an authentic one somewhat removed from the tourist circuit.
