English term

lunch room

English to German Art/Literary Poetry & Literature biography of Margaret Thatcher
As staunch Methodists, Alfred and Beatrice Roberts stayed well clear of the bells and smells of Anglicanism. They sent their girls to the Huntingtower Road School, a council school, which was new, with modern buildings and a reputation for good teachers. Its facilities, however, did not include a lunch room, and its pupils had to go home at midday.

Hi Virginia, Thank you for giving the points to me. You might like to wait a little longer before grading your questions in future, since there might be other suggestions. 'Mensa' is a good solution too.

Speisesaal

In schools, lunch rooms are usually called "Speisesaal". (If they are not really small, that is.)
