German term

Schnittpunkt

German to English Social Sciences Psychology Personnel and organisational management
hello,

I'm looking for a better solution than what KudoZ already gives me: i.e. not intersection or crossroads...

It's a title of a chapter in a book on organisational psychology and personnel development:

"Gesundheitsmanagement im Schnittpunkt von Personal- und Organisationsentwicklung"

Any good ideas here that are better than the aforementioned translations?

thx

Discussion

Marc Heinitz (asker) Jan 15, 2007:
"in the context of" ..might not be the most accurate trabnslation but is the best for me....sounds the best etc. We're dealing with health management in the context of both areas - there are some intersections but that sounds strange for me and I don't want to use that term.... later on in the chapter both of the two (personnel and the organisation) are analysed with a view to health management - separately and comparatively
Francis Lee (X) Jan 15, 2007:
Can you explain why? Because I thought Brigitte was along the right lines ...
Marc Heinitz (asker) Jan 15, 2007:
context from the contents the best option seems to be " in the context of"

thx
Francis Lee (X) Jan 15, 2007:
Opinion appears to be divided as regards the meaning of Schnittpunkt here, i.e. "in conjunction with" OR "in areas linking ..." What's your interpretation, given that you have the full context?
Marc Heinitz (asker) Jan 14, 2007:
note as already stated:

the chapter deals with health management, especially focussing on human resources development as well as organisational management.....theories, strategies, new developments in the 1990s, evaluating health management processes etc.

readers are .... surprise, surprise.... organisational psychologists i.e. academics

thx for the suggestions up to now
Francis Lee (X) Jan 14, 2007:
Context (i.e. what does the chapter deal with)/readership? What are your own ideas so far?

So verstehe ich das. Der Vorschlag von doctur_suz gefällt mir auch, aber so richtig entscheiden, was passt, kann man nur mit mehr Kontext, wie Francis schon erwähnt hat.
