If you have an English client, I would use the term "settlor", which is more common in English law documents.
Settlor = The person who creates a trust by donating property to be managed and administered by a trustee with the profits going to a beneficiary.

: For "fiducant" (in the sense of a person who makes a settlement of property) Black's gives "settlor" principally but also "creator", "donor", "trustor", "grantor", "founder". Le Dictionnaire de l'anglais juridique" gives "assignor in trust"

from what I saw, trustor/settlor are fairly interchangeable. trustor is definitely used in UK as well. no real difference
