Этот год у меня юбилейный и я все-таки осуществлю свою мечту. Наверное, все прошедшие годы я шел не тем путем, или просто не давали идти. В свои пятьдесят лет я "на коне" - все у меня получится.

I thought of using 'in the saddle', but I'm not really sure it fits the context well.
