: here it doesn't mean that they have no children in this at all but that they don't bring their children with them. I know what childless means.

Sorry but I disagree with your disagreement! Your interpretation is wrong and would not be used in the circumstance you describe. Childless couple is a commonly used term for a couple who have not had children.
