শব্দটি কি অশুদ্ধ অথচ প্রচলিত?
শব্দটি আমি কয়েকটি বাংলা অভিধানে খোঁজ করেছি, কিন্তু কোথাও পাইনি, তাই মনে হচ্ছে শব্দটি হয়ত বাংলায় প্রচলিত কিন্তু বাস্তবে ব্যাকরণগতভাবে অশুদ্ধ। আমি যেসব অভিধান দেখেছি, সেগুলো হল:
১. বাংলা একাডেমী সংক্ষিপ্ত বাংলা অভিধান, সম্পাদক: আহমদ শরীফ; ঢাকা, ২০০৭
২. বাংলা একাডেমী ব্যবহারিক বাংলা অভিধান, সম্পাদক: ডক্টর মুহম্মদ এনামুল হক এবং শিবপ্রসন্ন লাহিড়ী; ঢাকা, ২০০৫

আমার হাতের কাছের এসব প্রসিদ্ধ ও নির্ভরযোগ্য অভিধানে ‘সমাপনী’ শব্দটি না পাওয়ায় আমি মোটামুটি অশুদ্ধ কিন্তু প্রচলিত। ব্যক্তিগতভাবে আমি মনে করি এসব শব্দ এড়িয়ে যাওয়াই ভালো, যদি প্রযোজ্য স্থানে এর বিকল্প ও যুতসই বাংলা শব্দ পাওয়া যায়, যেমন, ‘সমাপ্ত’ ‘সমাপ্তিসূচক’। তবে এর চেয়ে লাগসই শব্দ পাওয়া না গেলে এটি ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে। সেক্ষেত্রে বানান হবে দন্ত্য-ন দিয়ে: ‘সমাপনী’।
চিন্তা করার মত সুন্দর একটা প্রশ্নের জন্য ধন্যবাদ।
