Hebrew term

Yiar 5757

Hebrew to English Other Thesis documentation
"...presentando la tesis final,en el mes de ***Yiar 5757*** por tanto y de acuerdo al reglamento y las normas vigentes ..."

Roughly translated as "...submitted his final thesis, in the month of **Yiar 5757** therefore, and in accordance with the regulations and norms in force ... etc.."

Clearly it's a month - and I am told it's possibly May, but could someone clarify whether I need to put the name of the month here, or if it's usual to leave the Hebrew and put the month in brackets afterwards?

Thanks in advance ... :o)

May 8, 1997 to June 4, 1997

First of all, it's Iyar and not Yiar. Yiar 5757 began on May 8, 1997 and ended on June 4, 1997. In your context you can simply write May 1997. In a legal document, for example, you would definitely leave the Hebrew date and add the "English" one in brackets.
