French term
tissus antidéfibratoires
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Construction / Civil Engineering
noise reduction screen
this is a legend in a picture:
Laine de verre ou de roche recouverte de néoprène ou de tissus antidéfibratoires.
this text deals with material usable in noise reduction screens. However, I cannot find anything about "tissu antidéfibratoire" anywhere.
The document is from Canada, so it might be a local expression, but ???
The only occurrence I found was http://www.bape.gouv.qc.ca/sections/mandats/r175-60_227/docu... (page 12)
Any help or suggestion is welcome

shock-absorbing materials
or shock absorbing pads
this translation works and makes sense in the context of noise reduction if anitidefibratoire is an error for antivibratoire,
since as you have already discovered, there is absolutely no trace of this word anywhere on the net, you may want to consider the possibility of error (or a strange canadian expression that we non-canadians are not in on!) on the part of the writer.
It seems a possible solution and obviously shock absorbers, shock absorbing materials play a crucial role in noise reduction.
you may like to wait for confirmation from others- this is a suggestion.
see for refs (there are plenty of others)
Shock absorbers, vibration absorbing pads, motor mounts, isolators, OEM parts. ... grommets for hanging & sound absorber. Wall noise barriers size range. ...

Note from asker:
Thank you for your suggestion ArabellaCE but it was not a spelling issue, only something extremely rare and highly specialised. I appreciate the attempt though. :-) |
Discussion
Which means that the answer I was looking for is: "defiberizing textile"
2 other instances, hyphenated, still for noise barriers :

Hope that helps =)
