copper pot-bellied lamp

belly shape copper lamp

"- бокий" appears to be an important attribute of the lamp. It does not complicate the image it produces the image. Otherwise the description will look like a product label.

just copper

Although technically 'copper-plated' is fine (copper-sided is not), I think simply 'copper' is your best bet here. 'Copper-plated' doesn't have the deliciousness of меднобокая, without it there's really no reason to complicate the image.

copper lamp with shining sides

меднобокая here means that the lamp is made from copper and because of constant use its sides gleam, or are shot with copper

thank you George!
agree kalambaka : меднобокая также - с выпуклыми, округлыми "боками", слово больше передает авторский стиль, чем качества лампы

Thank you, kalambaka
neutral vera12191 : Sorry, there is nothing about shining in this line.

I think the word «меднобокий» is connected historically mostly with «самовар» – samovar, which was always the owners’ pride – polished, shiny when the guests came.

Sometimes the objects which are crafted with a hammer and chisel are called "blown", the lamp which is mentioned in your text is not necessarily manufactured in a factory.
