Dutch term

momentane combinatie (van belastingen)

Dutch to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
De momentane combinatie van belastingen is opgebouwd uit:
- Permanente belastingen zoals het eigen gewicht en de rustende belasting
- de momentane variabele belasting.

I've looked at this EN wiki page with little success: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Structural_load

Thanks!

instantaneous (load) combination

Not quite sure about this one either...

The instantaneous load combination curves that result when the 60 degree waves shown in Fig. 13a move pass the vessel, are plotted in Fig. 14 with a minimum wave-induced torsional moment in the aftbody.

Thanks Jack and other repliers, your answer makes more sense to me, but I'm curious to hear a bit more "onderbouwing" for Olly's response above first. Stay tuned ;)

Thanks, Siobhan. Nice ref!
neutral asptech : I would prefer "current" to "instantaneous" if it is mainly due to static or slow-moving loads.

Thanks, asptech.

Plenty of refs. Didn't you try this first?

Sorry Chris, I'm more of a general construction expert. Your text is highly specialized indeed. My suggestion was based on hits and the assumption that 'momentane' is a complicated way of saying moment, and the result of your 'momentane combinatie' would seem to be the bending moment.
Note from asker:
Thanks Olly, however I'm still unsure "momentane" refers to "moment" as in the turning effect, or as in "instantaneous" or "momentaneous" (i.e. at a given moment in time). Googling for "moment combination" gives me results for both. Can you please confirm or explain a bit more, as a specialist in this field? Thanks!!
