After the sensitive seedling stage is past (about two weeks after
sprouting), position standard fluorescents one to two inches and
VHO fluorescents no more than four inches from the plant tops. For
MH or HPS lamps, position the lamp 18 to 24 inches from the tops
of the plants for 400-watt bulbs; three feet above for 1,000-watt bulbs.
Maintain these distances for the duration of the garden.
