si je devais traduire ce terme, j'écrirais "stéréoisomère de l'acide" et je recopierai le nom comme ils l'ont noté dans l'original anglais (en effet, s'ils ont choisi de le noter de cette manière, c'est que ce "découpage" en groupes chimiques particuliers était nécessaire pour la compréhension du document à traduire).
Donc: Stéréoisomère de l'acide ..... carboxylique !

You'll find more or less the 2 versions you quote, definitely referring to the same molecule.
Unfortunately, with such complex molecules, alternative ways of naming them systematically can be devised, according to how you break the molecule down into nameable sub-entities.
