Spanish term
Antojito
Spanish to English
Bus/Financial
Finance (general)
Hello everyone,
Ok, I'm stumped here. In a drop down list of information for report generation in a banking software program, "Antojito" is one of the options. In context:
PIP price vectors
Valuation of options
Valuation of swaps
"Antojito"
The language pair is ES/MEX > EN/US.
I've been having a hard time finding anything other than gastronomy related items when searching the net. Could it be "whim"? It just seems so unrelated.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Paul

: if it's a noun why provide a list of adjectives?

it's the idea and other than appetizer you could put it in quotation marks to get the idea across or add "ASPECTS"

: Hard to tell. @Allegro, a noun will not necessarily translate into a noun.

: and maybe not? how does your ref. demonstrate this to be appropriate? and why such a confidence level for a source text so lacking in context? --- mmm....could just be, but there is nothing else metaphorical in the text given

I believe it to be a metaphorical use of the term.

Discussion
The best part of this is that I'm the editor! The translator actually had "appetizer" for one of the entries! I'd expect to never work with a client again after turning in something like that.
At any rate, thanks again for all your help and thoughts.
