(just) the fact that Im alive (at all) // (just) the fact that I'm on the planet
Posted, as requested :-)
As far as the 'at all' is concerned, I suggested it because the Polish 'żyję' is very strong, phonetically, whereas the stressed syllable in 'alive' is a long vowel. So I thought that perhaps, since it's a spoken dialogue, 'at all' might help add an emphasis, in aural terms.

I'veonly just noticed the typo. It should, of course, read:
(just) the fact the I'm alive (at all)
My sincere apologies

I'm offering this here because you might well think it departs too far from the original...
Note from asker:
Yes, you are spot on Caryl. BTW, is it a spoken dialogue. |

: You are spot on Caryl: the meaning as well as your remark; (and removing "at all" as Kathy suggests would alter the meaning slightly again)

Yes,'at all'makes it slightly different. It sort of emerged as part of the rhythm and phonetics.I don't know if this is a spoken dialogue. If it is,the Polish ż is very strong;alive accents a vowel. So 'at all' adds an aural emphasis. Thank you :-)

Discussion
Czy mąż miałby do żony pretensje dlatego, że on żyje, istnieje? W moim (AM) odczuciu - nie. Dlatego agree dla bubz.
Zgadzam się, ale... jeszcze jeden przykład:
But just because a man is there doesn't give his wife the "right," because of her hormones, to spew insults at him, the same way that I have no "right," as a single person, to insult my friends just because I'm in a foul mood.

Natomiast zre sie ze mna "just because I exist" (because I dare to be on this planet, ze mialam w ogole czelnosc sie urodzic i zepsuc mu zycie) - czy widzisz tu roznice.
Doprawdy nie wiem jak ci to wytlumaczyc uzywajac slownika i regul gramatycznych - to jest po prostu kwestia wyczucia.
Natomiast "just because a man is there" - dlatego, ze facet zyje?
Chyba jednak nie wyjasnilismy rzeczy az tak pomyslnie.
2. owszem
Tylko, ze nie widze zwiazku z pytaniem, sorry.
Egzemplifikacja:
There is a man in the car. [punktem odniesienia jest samochód]
There is a man in a car outside the house. [punktem odniesienia jest dom]
There is a man in a car outside a house in the town. [punktem odniesienia jest miasto - takie zdanie mógłby wypowiedzieć ktoś oglądający zdjęcie satelitarne]
Przy czym w dwóch ostatnich przykładach określenia miejsca ("outside the house", "in the town") można opuścić (jeśli są oczywiste dla odbiorcy wypowiedzi).
2. Czy w tłumaczeniu zwrotnym ze zdania "There is a man in the car" wyjdzie "Tu jest człowiek w samochodzie"?
He loves me and He delights in me as a father delights in a child. He looks down at me and smiles just because I am THERE. Just because I exist. I don't have to prove myself worthy and that's a really cool thing because I CAN'T. And that's fine.

a więc się mylisz, chyba
"I am" ("you are", "he was", "she will be" itd.) nigdy nie występuje w tego typu zdaniach samodzielnie - musi być z "there/here": http://tinyurl.com/4nntqh6
o co - I am (ma do mnia cusik), ale mogę się mylić
dobranoc
taka sama jak pomiedzy jestem a istnieje, czyli niewielka
geopiet
