cama elástica

Spanish to English Art/Literary Furniture / Household Appliances
No es el trampoline. Son las camas que estaban hecha de madera y elástico y el colchón se colocaba sobre el elástico. Se dejaron de usar hace unos 30-40 años atrás?

Discussion

Carolyn Dorrell (asker) Mar 3, 2011:
El hombre estaba acostado en una cama elástica. Thanks Ryan, I recognized the bed through the drawing. I really didn´t know how else to explain.
Matthew Fuzzey Mar 3, 2011:
She says it's not a trampoline though. It really doesn't make sense to me. I was thinking maybe a mattress pad.
philgoddard Mar 3, 2011:
I usually ignore context-free questions, but Wikipedia says it's a trampoline:

Matthew Fuzzey Mar 2, 2011:
Some more context would be helpful.
Ryan Armbrust Diaz (X) Mar 2, 2011:
Also found camp bed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_bed

Some context would probably help.
Ryan Armbrust Diaz (X) Mar 2, 2011:
Maybe.. it is a cot? Something like this:

elastic-base bed

In Tenerife old beds are often left beside the refuse bins in the street; some of them have a base where the mattress is supported by wooden slats, and I seem to remember a similar design of bed base where in place of the wooden slats, there were heavy gauge rubber straps. There were settees of this design (i.e. the base that supports the cushions) in the U.K. in the 1960's.
