Asker, it still would be useful if you give some kind of context, i.e. a sketch of this person - what it is that he or she does that makes them exceptional...

You could talk about... ...a conciliatory person indeed, although I wouldn't jump at using it as a preceding adjective. Diplomatic and my latter two suggestions sit more happily in that position. You could of course turn it round and talk about a person who is etc, allowing ALL the options to be used. But I don't feel any closer to providing a suitable solution with confidence. And my suggestions, as I imagine would be the case for others, were based on describing an attitude, not a person! Anyway, take your pick!

I think that more context needs to be provided (not to mention the structure of the sentence to be translated) before choosing between the terrific suggestions made by Alistair and Noni.
