Quest'ultimo è un tema che merita due parole in più. Non è mistero per nessuno che il Renault fosse uno dei motori che girava più in alto, nel 2006, restando secondo solo al Cosworth (che in Giappone ha passato oltre metà gara sopra i 20000 giri sull'auto di Rosberg!) e per di più era quello che entrava in coppia molto più in alto degli altri.
