José J. Martínez Jan 24, 2012:
Allegro disagrees but I feel they are looking at the bad meanings of the word instead of the good meanings. Please do not say it is Spanglish because it is not. Remember Allegro, we are both exploiting our knowledge of languages here... that is not bad, is it?
1. explotación, aprovechamiento, uso abusivo, beneficiación; Synonyms: abuse, use, mishandling, misusage, abusion, availing, benefiting, profiteering, profiting, re-use; An act that exploits or victimizes someone (treats them unfairly).
Capitalistic exploitation of the working class.
Paying Blacks less and charging them more is a form of victimization.
José J. Martínez Jan 24, 2012:
In my answer it is "performing", sorry for the typo.

I may suggest you chamge the ; for periods, the meanings are clearer but I feel the sentence is extremely incorrectly written. I would make the changes of the ; for periods and leave as is because you are in possibilities of opening a pandora's box.

Spanish term (edited): la explotación de su giro
Selected

running its business

I think “giro” here means “conducting business”, as in, doing the administration, finances, etc.; but I would use “running” instead, as it just seems more natural.

Hope this helps :)

Sorry, meant to type: I think "explotación de giro" here means..."
Example sentence:

“la administración de clínicas y establecimientos privados de salud, propios o de terceros y la explotación de su giro ;”

“managing its own or third-party private health clinics and establishments, and running its business;”

and the exploiting or performin in their line of business

you must try to fit my phrase into the sentence but that is what it means.
Note from asker:
Hi JJ, yes, "giro" is "line of business". So this means that there is a right to exploit the line of business? Whose line of business? I'm totally thrown by the lack of punctuation!
Peer comment(s):

disagree AllegroTrans : "exploiting" is really Spanglish - not a word normally used in this context as it suggests ripping people off/// q.e.d.

It is not Spanglish.. explotación, aprovechamiento, uso abusivo, beneficiación; Synonyms: abuse, use, mishandling, misusage, abusion, availing, benefiting, profiteering, profiting, re-use; An act that exploits or victimizes someone (treats them unfairly).

(the) carrying out/performance of its corporate purpose

Another option if this is a mission statement or part of the articles of incorporation.

A mission statement is a statement of the purpose of a company or organization. The mission statement should guide the actions of the organization, spell out its overall goal, provide a path, and guide decision-making. It provides "the framework or context within which the company's strategies are formulated."[1]

Corporate Purpose
The corporate purpose is a statement included in the articles of incorporation that defines why the corporation exists. Some states allow loose and general statements, such as "to operate as a corporation legally and lawfully in the state of [x]." Other states require a more specific corporate purpose when incorporating a business, such as "to operate a law firm and other related legal services." Check the specifics with the state where the corporation is forming.
