From the description of a Master’s Degree in Cognitive Science offered by a Spanish university. This particular part is taking about the skills that students will acquire. I currently have “to be a teacher specialised in”, but really not sure about that...

Discussion
Y creo que su propia propuesta de traducción es válida. Otra es no traducir el término: "skills / competencies to teach courses on semantics, pragmatics...", por ejemplo. Pero no creo que el traductor deba alterar el original por obligación, de ahí mi voto a la respuesta de Guillermo, que respeta el original y en la que la idea está clara.
