Italiano term

from a technical summary of contracted software applications and IT support

my doubt is whether "il dettaglio" could refer to a specific document or if it is simply the "details of the information"

Discussion

Margherita Russo Feb 9, 2013:
I am not sure what these links are proving. Besides being both searches on "dettaglio dei documenti" rather than "dettaglio delle informazioni", they still refer to a single document, where several items (in this case, other documents) are illustrated.
James (Jim) Davis Feb 9, 2013:
Hi Tam Both links are searches on "il dettaglio dei documenti".

details

... It might be a document, but the Italian just says details

agree philgoddard : "Dettaglio delle informazioni inerenti le attività erogate"= "Details of the work carried out."

a report

it is obviously a specific document, since "La Società....dovrà trasmetter(la) mensilmente", and since it will contain a detailed list of all services, this is called a report.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Thomas Roberts : how do we know the procedures don't require multiple reports each month in order to deliver the details? // see comment

we know it because the sentence says IL dettaglio, singular. Otherwise it would say "le relazioni dettagliate" or something to that effect. Please go check and if you find me an example that contradicts that I'll be very happy to learn something new.

the breakdown of information

here I would put this, rather than "details", although semantically it's basically the same meaning: "in pezzi"/ "cut up", ecc. :)
