German term

i.S.O.B. c. UH

German to English Law/Patents Law (general) Abbreviations in legal references
Hello

I have spent half a day looking for abbreviations and am at wit's end... I hope somebody can help! The document is a text arguing a legal point. My concern is with abbreviations used in the references cited.

I am looking for:

AG
i.S.O.B. c. UH
VAR
GuR
BE

They appear like this:

(vgl. BGE 44 II 81 [Gen], 48 II 364 [Gen], 59 II 296/297 [*AG*], nicht publ. BGE v. 27.3. 1936 *i.S.O.B. c. U.H.* etc. S. 5 E. 1 Abs. 1 letzter Satz [Verein]; ebenso: Eidg. Steuerverwaltung in ASA 14 [1945/46] Nr. 32 S. 121 oben [Verein], ZR 22 Nr. 57 S. 111/112 [Gen], 41 Nr. 35 S. 107 Sp. 2 [Verein], *VAR* 17 Nr. 19 S. 66 [Gen], BJM 1957 S. 143 = *GuR* 9 [1957] S. 29 [Verein], SJZ 52 [1956] Nr. 94 S. 180 Sp. 1, *BE* [Gen])

Should I post all these separately?

Thanks so much in advance!

@ Hermien for abbreviations in general This page has a pdf document 'Official Federal Abbreviations', but I don't think it helps with your abbreviations

Another source - "GuR" stands for "Gesetz und Recht" (refers to a German publication, though)

German Wikipedia is also a good source for identifying abbreviations.
For VAR I found "Vereinfachte ausführregelung.", but no idea if it applies here.
"AG" = Canton of Aargau?

How to search for abbreviations Can somebody educate me... I know Abkuerzungen.de and I Google the abbreviation+Kudoz and I also Google the abbreviation in its native language Google and I Google it +English... and still nothing. Are there other ways? I also search e.g. for "abkuerzungen+schweiz", I know about http://home.datacomm.ch/dschnyder/Abkuerzungen.htm.
